This pocket-sized manual details the excitation system used by General Electric in the Model U33 Diesel-Electric Locomotive.  It provides detailed figures explaining the means by which the excitation system operates.  The manual was produced by the General Electric Corporation's Transportation Systems Division in Erie, Pennsylvania in August of 1969.

Some information about GE Rail from Wikipedia.org:
GE Rail, originally owned by General Electric, sold to Wabtec in 2018 and became known as GE Transportation.  GE produced its first locomotive in 1912, and continued to produce switcher locomotives through the 1920s and 30s, while also producing electrical equipment for diesel engines from other manufacturers. Heavy involvement in main-line rail transportation began with a partnership with ALCo in 1940. ALCo had been the second-largest producer of steam locomotives, and was moving into diesel traction, but needed help to compete with newly-emergent GM Electro-Motive Division. In the partnership, ALCo built the locomotive bodies and prime movers while GE supplied the electrical gear as well as marketing and servicing infrastructure.
After dissolving its partnership ALCo, in 1956 GE launched the Universal Series, which succeeded in establishing them as the main competitor to EMD.  The U33 was part of this Universal Series.
The U33B:
The GE U33B was a diesel-electric locomotive that was offered by GE from 1966 to 1975, featuring a 16-cylinder motor.  A total of 137 were produced.
The U33C:
The GE U33C is a 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems between January 1968 and January 1975.  375 examples of this locomotive were built for 11 North American railroads and one construction contractor.
