Flower Power for Skipper (Eames II p.247). The items here vary in condition, but most of the items in this lot will be in displayable condition with a little help. They have all been played with, so many might need a snap repair, some minor stitching, or cleaning. I've noted any issues in the descriptions. I've collected vintage Barbie for 30+ years, and I scrutinize items I sell on eBay. If you have a question that I haven't addressed in my description, please ask me:) You may want to save me as a seller since I am selling a large vintage Barbie collection on eBay.
Be aware that items are only returnable in the condition described below; if you clean or alter them in any way, they are not returnable.
I will go through the pieces and note any damage that I see.
Accessories Pic #2:
These are all of the accessories included in this lot. I think all of the shoes are Mattel, except for maybe the yellow pilgrims which are unmarked and could be clone. No split shoes. The pink pilgrims are marked Taiwan. The orange pumps are marked Japan, as are the tennis shoes and red roller skates. The braid belt is a reproduction for Harem-m-m's. The silver has worn off the button on the clutch purse. The tennis racket is in great shape.
Small Group Pic #3:
Silver Blues Coat:
Gold material looks really good, clean. Intact snap. Quite a few loose threads on the brocade, and some fraying and a tear in the purple nylon lining the collar.
Sears Glamour Group Aqua Mini Dress:
Subtle discoloration at bodice front and back, and needs a press. Missing 1/2 of snap at back, and has stain at left skirt side. There is wear to satin threads where stain is, but no holes.
Silver Sparkle or Salute to Silver
(Barbie Fan Club dress): Front looks pretty good, clean. Skirt's silver isn't worn. Back of top has loose silver threads on bodice, mostly at back shoulders and along back opening.
#8621 Blue/white Gingham Top and Skirt
(Eames II p. 256): Needs a press, skirt is clean with good elastic. Top has light aged discoloration, but sleeves are yellowed & soiled, especially sleeve on right in pic.
Lovely Sleep-Ins Robe:
Looks good, I don't see any snagging. Ties at collar are knotted, you'll have to pick them apart.
Pics #4: Tropicana:
Dress doesn't look bad, especially at clean white part on top. Missing flower at bodice, and yellow skirt front has reddish color bleed. Back of dress has reddish color bleed next to orange band at hemline. Tiny pink spot on white right shoulder area.
Pink/Yellow Knit One Shoulder Gown:
Mid-late ''70s Era gown should display well. Has 2 "picks" in bodice, some spots at left front hip area. Back right bodice has a spot.
Tennis Team:
In good shape, but has aged yellowing at neckline and shoulders, and some light yellowing/spotting at hem of shorts front and back. Snap is intact.
#7414 Multi-color Patchwork skirt
(Eames III p. 18): Looks pretty good, fabric is slightly aged. Shirring at waist has relaxed some, but still has some stretch.
Sears Glamour Group Fuschia Faux Fur Coat:
Light spot on right of collar. Has a 1/2" tear under left arm (left in pic), might not show too much on display. Belt has torn where it is stitched on at center back, and fabric shows wear/rubs where it has been folded in quite a few spots.
Pic #5: Blue Royalty Gown:
Gown is clean, missing 1/2 of lower snap at back closure, and all of top snap. Braid trim needs to be tacked down at left neckline. Trim has frayed at right shoulder and needs to be tacked there too. 1" of loose gold braid at center back hem needs to be threaded through gold braid that is stitched down. All fixes should be pretty easy.
#9618 Aqua Print Jumpsuit
(Eames III p.115): Pretty clean, needs a 1/2" seam repair at butt seam below back opening.
Light Green Halter Dress:
Later '70s Best Buy?, it has fading and soil across hip area of front. Has a couple dirt smudges on back skirt.
Royal Blue Halter Knit Dress:
Probably another late '70s Best Buy. Has spot at right hip front, and back has several spots of surface gunk that looks like old decal adhesive or glue.
#7205
Red Floral Top & Skirt
(Eames III p. 15): Looks clean, top's shirring has relaxed some, and skirt elastic has dried out. Top needs 1 new white ribbon added to front, and 1 added to back to create shoulder straps.
Pics #6: Rare Pair Dress & Jacket:
Light soil on jacket, some pilling of fabric, mainly on dress. Dress is missing buttons on front, and has raveling at right shoulder seam. Tiny pinhead size hole at front waist of dress. Dress' neck edge needs restitching, and right shoulder seam needs a 1/4" repair which should take care of most of the raveling there. 3/8" seam at front where bodice meets skirt needs to be restitched, and 2" length of hem needs restitching. Requires some work, but I think it could display well.
Red/white Striped Tube Top:
Best Buy from late '70s?, the top elastic is good, but center elastic thread has stretched out, clean.
#3373
Flower Power for Skipper
Red Floral Print Skirt
(Eames II p.247): Thought this was for Barbie, but it is for Skipper. Has light soil/aged look to fabric and a stretched out elastic waist. A hard to find fashion.
The Lace Caper:
Top and pants are beige colored with light soil and aging. There's a subtle yellow stain at top's left waist that continues around to the top's right back. No holes in the lace, but pants need 1" seam repair at front crotch seam. One pink flower of the trim has come undone at the back closure.
Multi-color Knit Top #1029
(Eames III p. 237): A hard-to-find K-Mart Bargain Fashion. Has 3 tiny holes on back, 1 pinhole on yellow chest area in front.
#9621 Blue Jumper
(Eames III p. 116): Looks good in front, has a couple light spots in back, might wash out. Missing 1/2 of snap at back.
Pic #7:
#4041 Color Magic Fashion Fun skirt:
Has soil and color bleed across skirt front and back. Has a 1/4" tear in fabric starting at right back armhole edge.
#7745 Palazzo Pants
(Eames II p. 287): Bodice has light soil
and lace edging has come undone at left neck strap. Tiny pindot at center crotch seam front; big stain at left leg hem, small spots at back of left leg. 1/2 of snap at back needs restitching.
Red/Silver Overall Romper:
Late 70's?, maybe this is for Roller Skating Barbie? Romper is in clean, great shape, closes with snaps. I included vintage red roller skates in with accessories, pic #2.
Super Scarf Skirt:
Really nice shape overall, still has its chain trim! Has a small spot at back closure, and 2 small loose yarns near back opening.
Glowin' Gold Pants:
Some wear to fabric at front yoke, missing 1 gold button. Back yoke of pants has lots of wear, and back of pants legs show more wear than front do.
Pic #8:
Garden Tea Party:
Slightly aged fabric with yellowing to the skirt's lace inset. Neckline tear needs repair. Maybe you could add a black ribbon to the waist and to the bodice over the neckline tear?
Shape-Ups:
Clean, with a small run underneath the right sleeve at the seam, it's not very noticeable. A little of the front neckline edge, and a little of the back neckline edge needs restitching. The back butt seam needs a 1/2" seam repair.
#4041
Color Magic Fashion Fun Skirt:
Intact, but very faded. It's been color changed a lot. Tiny spot at front near waistband, and some spotting at back waistband near side.
Harem-m-m's:
Really nice, clean, with no issues! The reproduction belt is shown in pic #2.
Check the Suit Top & Pants:
Top doesn't have any holes or runs, but has dirty smudge on center front. Won't show if you have the jacket for this outfit. The pants have their buckle and vinyl tab! The pants are pretty clean and in good shape except for the frayed area at back waist. Back right side of pants has frayed away from the vinyl waistband, needs to be restitched.
Pic #9: Penney's Exclusive Silver 'n Satin Dress:
Silver bodice shows a little aging, but looks pretty good overall, see close-up pics # 10 & 11. Pretty clean. Pink satin waist inset hasn't faded too much. Dress' skirt has frayed away from waist inset and been repaired at right side front around to the back closure. Doesn't look terrible, but could be repaired better. The right side back of the skirt has frayed for about 1" from the inset waist. Top hook and loop are present, bottom hook needs a new thread loop.
Pink Floral Nylon Gown:
Not sure if this is for Loving You Barbie or Kissing Barbie, but dress looks pretty clean and I don't see much snagging! Dress has an attached belt which I didn't notice had twisted around to the dress' back in my pic. All snaps intact.
Pink Panties & Slip:
These are similar to #2555 (Eames III p. 173) except their pink, not green. Panties are nice, but back of slip has a big piece of tape residue mark, and there's some bluish paper stuff stuck on at the waist. Front of slip looks fine.
Winter Wedding Gown and Headpiece/Veil:
Needs a lot of work! Gown is slightly yellowed with some light spotting center lower skirt front. Fur is very worn at neck and cuffs, and left sleeve is almost completely unstitched. At front center hem edge, 1/2" of the trim needs to be sewn onto hem. Hook and loop are still present at back, but pleat at back neckline needs to be retacked down. The headpiece's fabric has yellowed darker than the gown. It's fur is almost worn away. The wire band is still inside and intact. I think 1 layer of the netting has torn away from the headpiece edge, and it has twisted around the other layers of netting. I think that it can be untwisted and resewn to the headpiece. The netting is in good shape, I only see 2 holes about 1/4" around, and a pinhead size one in all of the netting. If you're creative, it would be fun to dye this and add new fur pieces!
