    Description

A 1967 facsimile reprint of Thomas Tredgold's presentation of the workings of an early steam engine, patented by England's Robert Stephenson, which helped to establish railroads as an important means of transport. The original publication of 1838 was entitled "The Steam Engine"; this facsimile presents just a portion of that original work, with drawings of key parts scattered amid the text. Also with a folio of 4 large folded engravings in rear pocket, showing detailed drawings of the locomotive from various angles.
In gold stapled wraps with black & white drawing of the locomotive and crew.
A very nice, sound copy but with slight soiling to covers.
