FAQ
Where are your journals made?
These handmade, fair trade and eco-friendly journals are made by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.
How many pages does the journal have and what is it made of?
These journals have 125 pages (150 in the XL size) of handmade khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi), made from recycled cotton that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. They are handmade and don’t contain chemicals as we only use unbleached cotton. The paper is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in rural villages.
The semi-precious stones that have been stitched onto these leather journals have been handpicked by us for quality and size and may differ from the image shown as we use a mixture of
Tiger’s Eye, Lapis, Labradorite and Black Onyx.
How are the journals made?
The leather has been tanned by our suppliers and the journals have been crafted using a mixture of love, contemporary and traditional skills. The pages have been bound by hand, so they are strong and perfect for travelling.
Each item is individual, leather is a natural product and can have slight imperfections, we feel this adds to the individuality and makes each product unique.
What can I use the journal for?
They are perfect to use as a scrapbook or art book, doodle book or diary, and the paper is great for water-colour painting.
Anything else I should know?
Due to the fact that these products are individual, rustic and handmade, the colour and designs may slightly vary but loveliness comes as standard.
Please note we do not advise using a fountain pen with this type of handmade paper as the ink may spread.
When can I expect my delivery?
We aim to process and dispatch your delivery on the same day. Please allow up to 3 working days to receive this.
