The book by American specialists provides a systematic presentation of the results of research carried out in the United States in recent years. Here various types of holographic systems are described, a classification of holograms is given, and the results of experiments are given. The authors carry out a mathematical analysis of the formation of holograms and restoration of images of objects under quasi-monochromatic coherent, incoherent and partially coherent illumination; consider the influence of the parameters of photographic film and its processing on image quality. The book highlights some issues from the field of practical application of holography, discusses the ways of accumulating information using holograms. The book is of interest to a wide range of military and civilian specialists and students of the physical-technical and radio-technical departments of military academies and civilian universities.
