Plan Set #77-A: 1:20.3 - scale lobster boat (waterline model), part 1: Basic boat
" is a model of a Friendship sloop. This sheet contains a conversion chart to other scales.
"
Plan Set #77-B:
1:20.3 - scale lobster boat (waterline model), part 2
" explains the final detail for the boat.
"
Plan Set #77-C: Build a
1:20.3 - scale dock for a lobster boat
" is based on the town dock in Wiscasset Harbor. The plan provides details for a fixed and floating dock connected by a ramp, a crane and a small building. Maine has a 10-foot tide, so a float is required for the boats to tie up to. this, in turn, requires a ramp that leads from the float to the fixed dock and a crane for lifting heavy loads from the floating to the fixed dock. Most docks used by lobstermen have some sort of structure.
"

" is a generic representation of a type of vessel that was ubiquitous in the Maine coasting trade, an enterprise that has now vanished entirely and is all but forgotten . It represents a vessel 32' long on deck and 12' in beam.
