A Sprint R850 is clearly NOT a T9. A T-Mobile HS1 (or TMOHS1) is obviously NOT a T9.
You are buying a unique SIM unlock code for your T-Mobile Franklin T9 hotspot (FCC ID: XHG-R717). Code guaranteed to work. If you don't already have a T-Mobile Franklin T9 hotspot to unlock, please do not buy this item.
Before purchasing this SIM unlock code, connect to your T9 hotspot with a computer or phone, then navigate on a browser to the T9's web Admin User Interface at http://mobile.hotspot or http://192.168.0.1 (the default password is admin if you have not already changed it), and finally navigate to menu > settings > mobile network > SIM > Carrier Unlock. That's where you'll need to enter the unlock code. (If your T9 doesn't offer the option, you need to upgrade its firmware first: see https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/mobile-internet/franklin-9-mobile-hotspot/software-updates-franklin-t9-mobile-hotspot.) If you can't get to the T9's unlocking field, you will not be able to enter the unlock code, so please do not buy this item.
Please send your T9's IMEI immediately after your order in an eBay message. If you don't send me your T9's IMEI, I will cancel your order. In about 1-12 hours, you will receive the unique unlock code for your T9. The IMEI can be found on the sticker under the battery. Please double-check it when sending it, as each IMEI has a unique unlock code. If you are not going to send me the IMEI of your T9 hotspot, please do not buy this item.
Once unlocked, the T9 hotspot can accept Data SIM cards of any provider using compatible LTE/4G/3G bands. If you use a Data SIM card from a carrier other than T-Mobile, you need to add and select the corresponding APN in settings. Check that the new APN shows as selected after restarting the hotspot. You can find the APN for your provider by simply googling "APN" and your provider's name. For instance, you can google APN AT&T to quickly find out that the APN is broadband or NXTGENPHONE. Note that other carriers sometimes block service to unlocked hotspots even if the bands are compatible. Check with your carrier. The T9 already has the APN for T-Mobile preloaded, and it is selected by default.
Do you think that I am too harsh explaining when not to buy this service? I still have to cancel half of the orders because the buyer doesn't have a T9 to unlock! Each cancellation costs me time, money and it erodes my faith in humanity and democracy. Yes, people happily buy an unlocking service for a T9 when they don't have a T9 to unlock. Maybe I should up-sell them to a bridge I have for sale or to an End-of-the-World insurance policy.
