Vintage Barbie HTF 1965 "Matinee Fashion" Outfit #1640 • Complete + Clutch

Barbie's sophisticated "Matinee Fashion" (outfit #1640) was only available in 1965 and can be hard to find. This listing is for the original COMPLETE outfit and includes the following:
• Short red jacket with faux leopard fur collar and trim on the cuffs. Three small red buttons down the front. Fastens with two well attached snaps.
• Sleeveless red sheath dress with red braid trim around the arm holes and neckline. Fastens in the back with a smooth-working YKK zipper. Small shiny area near the hem. Frayed black and white Barbie® tag attached.
• Matching pillbox hat with attached long scarf of red chiffon to drape over Barbie's shoulder. No pulls, snags, stains or runs in the chiffon. Except for one tiny pin hole near the bottom, there are no holes (see photo #3).
• Pair of red closed-toe heels with no splits. Both are appropriately marked "Japan."
• (Not pictured) Barbie's red velvet clutch with rhinestone closure. Lined in white satin. Not part of the original outfit but I decided to add it as an extra.
No stains, holes, tears, loose stitches or repairs. Although it may not look like it in the photos, the three pieces of clothing are close to identical in color. Very clean and unwrinkled with no unpleasant odors. A red hanger is included. Stunning!
