Vintage Barbie RARE 1965 "On The Avenue" Outfit #1644 • COMPLETE & NM/MINT

Description

Barbie's gorgeous "On the Avenue" (outfit #1644) was only available in 1965 and is very hard to find. This listing is for the COMPLETE, original outfit and includes the following:
• Sleeveless dress with a white and gold textured knit skirt topped by a gold lame' bodice. Skirt is lined in white taffeta. Fastens in the back with a smooth-working YKK zipper. No snags, runs or pulls.
• Matching white and gold knit jacket with short sleeves. Fully lined with white taffeta. Shiny gold foil half belt with working metal buckle. Although there are some wrinkles in the foil, it has not peeled off. There is a tiny area on the loop that hold the belt that has doubled over on the edge. Black and white Barbie® tag attached. No snags, runs or pulls.
NOTE:
The jacket and skirt are white as shown in photos #1 - #3. It looks yellow in photo #4 because I took it later under artificial light. I included it because I wanted to show how the jacket and dress look when worn together.
• Pair of white tricot gloves
• White graduated pearl necklace
• Shiny dimpled gold foil clutch with gold bead button closure. Foil is intact.
• Pair of white closed toe heels with no splits. Both are appropriately marked "Japan."
Dress, jacket and gloves have no holes, stains, tears or repairs. Very clean and unwrinkled with no unpleasant odors. A white hanger is included. Simply stunning!
